Here is a question I picked up this week at the SHRM annual meeting at a session I attended by Greg Smith. This is one you should ask every one of the people who work for you --- even ask it of yourself .
"What is it that you are over due?" It could be a raise, the next new computer, more time with my boss, or maybe even a performance review. If you don't ask, you will not know what your people feel that they are missing or being left out of.
