Baby Boomers will not be leaving the employment market anytime soon

A couple of interesting numbers concerning Baby Boomers:

McKinsey and Company reports that 60% of Baby Boomers will not be able to maintain a retirement lifestyle close to their current lifestyle unless they continue to work and this study was done 3 months ago.

AARP says one out of 5 retirees is either coming out of retirement or thinking about it since the melt down in the market.

I have said for the last couple of years that we are not going to be the 10,000,000 employees short that the US Department of Labor predicted by 2010. We are still going to have negative unemployment in a number of areas, especial in health care.

The other side of the coin is there will always be a shortage of STAR employees. So when you find a great one, make sure to do the things necessary to keep them.
